Rebuilt in 2009, the Dominium comprises five distinct sections, including a historic stone facade and a listed building. Managing this diverse mix of materials was challenging for the building management system.
Challenge
To manage a complex of varied building materials and structures and minimize employees’ complaints about indoor climate while saving on operational costs.
Solution
The building’s climate zones were reduced from 100 to 32. We conducted material analysis, solar orientation assessment, and evaluation of flooring and lighting tech. We reviewed the hours of operation and staff distribution. By building, we were able to calculate precise data for effective, predictive control and to ensure reliable outcomes.
Results
Within a year, employee complaints about room temperatures were down by 90%. without employees even knowing that a new building control system was in place. Alongside this was a 26% reduction in heating, cooling, and ventilation expenses.
