What does your morning look like?
I take full advantage of the remote-working that meteoviva offers. In the mornings, I have a bit more time for a walk with the dog and a lovely cup of coffee. I then answer my emails on my laptop and mentally go through the day ahead. As a backend software engineer, our daily stand-up starts at 9:00 am, when we coordinate what needs to get done that day and discuss any challenges that have arisen since the last stand-up.
How do you like to spend your evenings?
As I work almost exclusively on a screen, I prefer to spend my evenings outside. In addition to longer walks with the dog, I enjoy riding my mountain bike through the Aachen forest. I play guitar in a band and take singing lessons, which are more creative than my analytical work at meteoviva.
What do you like most about your work at meteoviva, and why do you find your role fulfilling?
What I like most is the clear company vision at meteoviva, which I wholeheartedly support: Through our products, we help our customers reduce their energy use and thus the CO2 emissions in their buildings drop. This is huge in helping us achieve climate neutrality, and it motivates me every day! What benefits do you appreciate most at meteoviva?
What I like most is that I can choose to work flexibly. For me personally, the home office is great when I need to concentrate over a longer period. However, some discussions are significantly more efficient in person. In this case, I book a desk in our Aachen office and can exchange ideas directly with my colleagues and have lunch together. meteoviva also organises recreational events. I participated in the Aachen company run with my colleagues. Next year, I would like to take part in our workation, where meteoviva gives us the opportunity to combine work and holiday with the team outside the office, for a week.
What benefits and special offers do you value most at meteoviva?
What I like best is that I can choose the location of my work flexibly. For me personally, working from home is ideal when I need to concentrate on something over long distances. However, some meetings are much more efficient as a physical meeting. In this case, I simply book a desk in our Aachen office and can talk to my colleagues directly and have lunch together. Events outside of regular work, such as sporting events, are also supported by meteoviva. For example, I’ve already run in the Aachen company run with my colleagues. Next year, I would like to take part in our workation, where meteoviva gives us the opportunity to combine work and vacation with the team for a week at a different location than our office.
