How do you start the day?

meteoviva offers me the opportunity to work from my home office, which I make good use of. This gives me a little more time in the morning for a walk with the dog and a delicious cup of coffee. I then answer my emails on my laptop and go through the day mentally. As a backend software engineer, our daily stand-up starts at 9 a.m., in which we agree as a team what needs to be done that day and what problems have arisen since the last stand-up that need to be solved.

How do you prefer to spend your free time?

As I work almost exclusively on a computer screen, I prefer to spend my evenings “analog” as a balance. In addition to long walks with the dog, I particularly enjoy mountain biking through the Aachen forest. As a counterbalance to my analytical work at meteoviva, I also like to spend time doing creative things: I play guitar in a band and go to singing lessons.

What do you like best about your work at meteoviva and why do you find your job fulfilling?

What I like best about meteoviva is that we have a very clear company vision that I am fully committed to: our products enable our customers to save large amounts of energy and therefore CO² emissions in their buildings. This is an important contribution to us actually being able to achieve climate neutrality, and that motivates me every day! What aspects of our corporate culture do you particularly value and how do they contribute to your well-being and motivation?

What benefits and special offers do you value most at meteoviva?

What I like best is that I can choose the location of my work flexibly. For me personally, working from home is ideal when I need to concentrate on something over long distances. However, some meetings are much more efficient as a physical meeting. In this case, I simply book a desk in our Aachen office and can talk to my colleagues directly and have lunch together. Events outside of regular work, such as sporting events, are also supported by meteoviva. For example, I’ve already run in the Aachen company run with my colleagues. Next year, I would like to take part in our workation, where meteoviva gives us the opportunity to combine work and vacation with the team for a week at a different location than our office.
