How do you begin the day?
I start with a good breakfast. I prepare early appointments in advance. I start straight away with the first meeting in the office or at home, or work through e-mails.
What’s your favourite way to spend your evening?
I enjoy going to the gym, taking part in fitness classes, and going to the sauna. I usually spend the evenings with my wife, without much of a plan.
What do you like most about your work at meteoviva, and why do you find your job fulfilling?
I am not a typical salesperson. I do my ‘job’ out of conviction and have been working on energy efficiency, structural change in energy supply, and environmental protection in living and working areas since 1988. As a graduate engineer in technical environmental protection, I have a scientific basis for my work and always see myself as a consultant to the customer. I can pursue this approach at meteoviva. At the same time, the meteoviva team and I have succeeded in developing technology that was completely new to the market, at the time, and, by scaling our business model, we now also have an impact on CO2 emissions on a relevant scale. We are actively contributing to climate protection, which is fulfilling for me.
What aspects of our corporate culture do you value, and how do they contribute to your well-being and motivation?
The personal interaction in the meteoviva team is important. For a long time, we had a small team, with an informal atmosphere. Despite the rapid growth we have managed to retain some of this atmosphere.
What benefits do you value most at meteoviva?
The home office is now very important to me. The new location in Aachen is an hour’s journey for me and the frequent journey would be time consuming. I think the sports programmes and events are great. Taking part in the Indeland Triathlon inspired me.
