Technology veteran joins to support its expansion following Bregal Milestone’s majority growth investment

We are happy to announce the appointment of Achim Berg as new Chairman of the Board at meteoviva. The appointment follows Bregal Milestone’s majority growth investment announced in May 2026.

Achim brings more than three decades of leadership experience across technology, software and digital businesses. He served as President of Bitkom, Germany’s digital industry association, from 2017 to 2023, and spent nearly a decade as an Operating Partner at General Atlantic. Before that, he was Chief Executive of arvato AG, Bertelsmann’s largest division with more than 70,000 employees, and a member of the Bertelsmann executive board. He has also held senior roles at Microsoft, including General Manager of Microsoft Germany and Corporate Vice President of its Windows Phone division, as well as earlier positions at Deutsche Telekom, Fujitsu Siemens Computers and Dell.

meteoviva’s intelligent solutions combine a proprietary physics-based thermodynamic model with AI to deliver energy cost reductions of up to 45 percent across large-scale commercial real estate portfolios. As Chairman, Achim will work with meteoviva’s management team and Bregal Milestone to accelerate the company’s growth in new European markets, advance its AI and autonomous-control roadmap, and broaden its solution suite.
