MeteoViva wins Digital Energy Award
Jülich/Essen, February 9, 2018 – MeteoViva received the Digital Energy Award in the Lean Operations category at the E-world 2018 trade show in Essen, Germany. The Jülich-based technology company won the jury over with its smart solution that makes it possible to automatically optimize building energy management. The jury, which was made up of industry experts, highlighted the outstanding technology that facilitates processes in the energy sector through automation, increased process efficiency and agile organizational development in the power industry.
The Digital Energy Award is the latest in a succession of awards that MeteoViva has received for its smart energy optimization concept. As recently as November, MeteoViva was recognized with the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 as one of the fastest growing companies in the German technology sector. Dr. Jan Scheffler, Managing Director of MeteoViva GmbH, regards the latest honor as further confirmation of the disruption potential of MeteoViva's technology. "Everyone in the energy sector is talking about the Internet of Things right now. But we've taken a holistic approach from the very start, and networked all relevant data together in order to generate forecasts of energy flows within buildings. MeteoViva uses these forecasts to automatically feed the system with the data it needs to optimally balance energy supply and demand."
This innovative approach is making MeteoViva a desirable partner for large commercial building operators and utility companies. "Our solution now makes it possible, to manage consumption around time-of-use electricity tariffs, demand charges and to also precisely forecast energy consumption for entire property portfolios " explains Scheffler.
These groundbreaking capabilities were the decisive factor for the Digital Energy Awards jury. “Intelligent, software-based solutions represent the critical enabler to fully exploit the potential offered by smart grids, energy storage and renewable energy generation” the jury reasoned.
The award is presented each year during the E-world trade show. The industry award is organized by E-world energy & water GmbH in conjunction with con|energy, Google and Innogy.
